1965 Murray ‘Muzz’ Smith retrieving Alex ‘Zac’ Kochanowitsch’s ‘Rising Sun’ design surfboard from the rocks at South Point. In 1964 Zac was WA’s first State Open champ and he represented Aust in the first World Titles held at Manly NSW (won by Midget Farrelly). Muzz won numerous State Open, Senior & Masters Titles in 60s & 70s. In 1980 he won the Australian Masters Title in South Aust. Murray established a career in the WA surfing industry.
