Surf photographer Ric Chan captured this 1975 image of surfer Ric Gath at Margaret River. Ric Gath won the Margaret River Classic twice and has been WA State Surfing Champion. He also designed the original Gath Helmet the world’s first surf helmet. In 1989 SW pro surfer Dave Macaulay won the Margaret River Surf Masters event wearing a Gath Helmet.
