A paddle-out was held for popular Capel surfer & surfboard maker Steve Rice at his local beach on Sunday 1 February 2015. A large contingent of family & friends were on hand to celebrate Steve’s life with a paddle out and ashes scattering ceremony.
Steve (age 60) passed away quietly but unexpectedly on Monday 23rd June, 2014. He was surfing with his brother Garry and mates at his favourite surf break at the time.
