In 1977 NZ surf photographer Ric Chan did a photo shoot in the Augusta region.
Ric: ” I was working on an assignment with a journalist for Independent Newspapers. In two small boats our team travelled 40 miles out into the Southern Ocean to photograph a Russian Submarine & her mother-ship. The sea was very rough and I got horribly sea sick.”
