1975 Photo shoot at Trigg Beach

In 1975 NZ photo journalist Ric Chan did a photo shoot at Trigg Beach for Ocean Surf Shop in Perth city.

The Trigg photo shoot featured male model/surfer Gary Greirson, surfer Norm Bateman & other local stand-ins.

Gary Greirson became a professional TV model in the 80s and earned big $’s advertising Beer & Electrical goods in TV advertisements. Gary is now retired and lives in the SW with his wife Sally.

Norm Bateman is a former State Longboard Champion & past President of Surfing WA. He still competes in veteran Longboard events in WA and Noosa Qsld. Norm lives at Karrinyup with his wife Sandy.

Ric Chan: “Advertising guru Ross Goodlet was the key creative producing the Ocean Surf Shop advertisements. The advert’s appeared in local surf magazines & on posters for the Surf Shop. Ross was the advertising dood who was instrumental in getting my voice and face onto mainstream media in WA .”

Gary Greirson: “For what it’s worth, the Oceans photo was taken more like 1973, when I started Oceans Surf Shop for Mick Cronin and Bob Girdwood. When I left, Bob’s brother Bill took over and his son is the kid in front, my brother Rob is to my left and my brother Kim is to the right, next to Len. Cheers Gaz.
