We are experiencing beautiful autumn weather in the South West, but our day light hours are shortening and winter is coming.
In wintertime, our west coast gets battered by cold fronts and surfers seek protection from the elements in the Cape’s sheltered bays and coves. Warm clothes, beanies, full length wetties and hot meals help keep out the chill.
Many locals head north chasing waves and warmer weather.
Here are some of my beach pics to remind you what wintertime in the SW looks like!
Image #1. Winter squall in the bay.
Image #2. Winter line-up (Feggsie).
Image #3. Winter waves (Dave Mac).
Image#4. Winter beach goers (Java the dog).
On the plus side, there are sunny winter days with good swell and its much quieter in and out of the water.
