Barry Young’s Maldives surf trip images

Yallingup goofy footer Barry ‘Baz’ Young has been going on surf trips to the wave rich Maldives atolls for over 30 years.

These Maldives surf trip photos give an idea of what the surf can deliver. Remember, these shots are a sort of “ best of “ of many photos I have and it is not always like this. It can be small waist high for 4-5 days or in July-August monsoonal rain and wind for 4-5 days. You have to take the good with the bad as on any surf trip. I reckon 30% of all the trips I’ve done have been pretty average. It’s the good ones that keep you going back. Most regulars will agree I reckon.

It is one of the most wonderful surf destinations out there… pity it is a bit price prohibitive!

Honky’s is a long, wrapping left, The takeoff is about 100 yards south of Sultans along the same reef.
