Last weekend former dual State Open Men’s Champion Peter ‘Spook’ Bothwell (age 71) received belated birthday surprises at a get-together held at his restored historic Hammond cottage on Yallingup hill.
Loz Smith of Quindalup and Blue Wren Gallery and Framers in Dunsborough presented Pete with a framed print featuring an original 1967 image of him surfing Injidup by Greg Woodward (top) and a decal based on the same image used by West Coast Surfboards on their performance models in the early 70s (bottom).
And State Longboard Champion Jack Medland delivered Pete’s new custom Moonshine Malibu board. It is a classic ‘ol skool’ longboard.
Happy belated birthday Pete for the 5 May.
Thanks for the images Loz.
