Alfred Cove surfer Noel Sweeny was surf reporter ‘Murf the Surf’ for local radio station 6KY-NA in the mid-60s.
In 1965-66 Noel and his mate John Ventouras made a surf trip to Geraldton in Noel’s MG-B sports car. It was fitted out with custom made roof racks that carried up to 3 boards. The boys surfed 5ft Coronation Bay & 4ft Geraldton back beach. These are Noel’s photos of the trip in his surfmobile.
