Surfboard craftsman Steve Rice (age 60) from Sealines Surfboards in Capel passed away unexpectedly on 23 June 2014. At the time, he was surfing with his brother Garry & friends.
This Sealines Surfboard was the last surfboard shaped by Steve in 2014.
The board was subsequently glassed with an Abalone (Paua shell NZ) design deck by Daryl Wilkes of Singleton.
This Sealines Surfboard has been on display at the WA Surf Gallery, Aravina Estate Yallingup since 2019, but was recently returned to its owner George Scheffener in Capel WA.
