In the 70s teenagers Laurie Smith of Como and Jane Mews of Ardross were sweethearts.
Jane Silich (nee Mews) “We were each other’s first true loves. Spending all our time at the beach, skateboarding or going to surf movies. We first met when Laurie was not quite sixteen and I was not quite fifteen on our way to Cottesloe Beach. It was young love at first sight! “
