The SW surfing community celebrated the life of Quindalup surfer/photographer Laurie ‘Loz’ Smith at Yallingup Beach 2pm Sunday 20 Feb. Loz has cancer and attended the event.
Master of Ceremonies Diane Moore and speakers Tracy Simpson, Jack McCoy NSW (message via Tracy) and Bob Monkman told tales of Loz’s life shared with the ocean.
Loz joined hundreds of his friends for the Paddle Out in Yallingup lagoon.
Loz.“I may be the only person to attend his/her own Paddle Out”.
Adam Lane – Indian Ocean Board Club.“Damien ‘Taco’ Warr was the man behind the scenes helping me organise the event, I couldn’t have done it without him. Chubby Trantham just likes to look good 😊. Taco has an Instagram page called ‘Twelve on Twelve’ and is documenting some great stuff about Loz…do yourself a favour and have a gander 😊.
A big thank you also to Yallingup musician Vance Burrow for the music and Blue Wren Gallery & Framers for the art work display.”
