Bruce Smith and his partner John ‘Gus’ Simpson purchased Odyssey Surfboards from co-founder Phil Usher in the early 80s. Bruce was a successful shaper and talented surfer in WA before heading overseas to Europe and then South America.
In 1980 Bruce wrote an article about surfboard Shapes for West Coast Surfer magazine. In the article he talks about the choices between twin fin and single fin surfboards. See below.
The opening for the event will coincide with the reunion of the Odyssey team being held at the annual Vintage Surfboard Swap Meetat Perry Lakes Reserve Floreat on Sunday 23 October 2022.

Coming soon ‘Odyssey surfboard exhibition’
The WA Surf Gallery supported by Surfing W.A. and Aravina Estate will be hosting an exhibition of Odyssey surfboards and memorabilia over the spring months.
