WA surfing pioneer and former Subiaco footballer Kevin Merifield (age 84) is recovering from a heart operation at St John of God Hospital in Subiaco.
A week ago Kevin complained of chest pains and was taken to Busselton Hospital by his wife Margaret. From there he was sent to Bunbury Hospital where it was discovered he had blocked arteries and he was transferred to St John of God in Subiaco for a triple bypass operation on Wednesday.
Kevin has today been moved from the ICU into Coronary Care Unit.
