Surf journo Gavin McCaughey previewed the 1971 State Surfing Championships in his weekly surf column.
Gavin is a colorful chap. In addition to his surfing background with the Scarborough Board Club in the late 60s, he was also a surf reporter for radio station 6KY in 1969 and the inaugural editor of WA’s first surf magazine Country Surf in 1971.
