Now in its sixth year, the Vintage Surfboard Swap Meet is probably the biggest swap meet of its kind in Australia. With over 500 surfboards on display there is a board from everyone’s past.
The free event provides an opportunity for collectors to display vintage surfboards to trade or sell, but also to show and discuss classic examples of surfboard evolution & history with like-minded collectors & enthusiasts. There will be live music, coffee van, the odd vintage car and plenty of vintage boards of all breeds and eras. Attendees will have the opportunity to view and purchase vintage surf apparel, custom-made retro surfboards, classic surf photography, vintage skateboards, handcrafted wetsuits, surf music, and a variety of surf memorabilia.
The 2025 Vintage Swap Meet is happening this Sunday November 2nd. Come and discover some unique vintage surfboards and meet some of WA’s keenest collectors.
This year’s theme is a Cordingley reunion. The Matriarch, Jenny Cordingley will be in attendance along with dozens of cast and crew already on the guest list including shapers, team riders, artists and workers spanning 3 decades from the 60s to the 90s and beyond. Please reach out to anyone you know that had any involvement with Cordingley’s back in the day and let them know. And bring your Cords Boards down to get the low down from the crew that built them.

Damon Hurst. “To the best of my knowledge the first vintage surfboard events; partly sponsored by SWA, were called “Surf & Turf” and held at the North Fremantle bowling club, from 2012-2016. A commission was charged on all SB sales, all of proceeds went to the surf charity Surfaid.“
