1970s Geographe Bay images by Tom Collins

Pioneer surfer and surf photographer Tom Collins captured these surf images in Geographe Bay during the 1970s.

Geographe Bay is located in south west WA, it stretches from the Bunbury breakwater in the north to Cape Naturaliste in the south. The southern stretch of the bay from Busselton to Cape Naturaliste in Dunsborough has north facing beaches and bays, and it is protected from strong sea breezes and swells by Cape Naturaliste.

The bay was named in May 1801 by French explorer Nicolas Baudin, after his ship, Géographe. Wikipedia
