1960s Judging platforms Yallingup

West Australian Surf Riders Assoc (WASRA) contest officials built a scaffold judging stand on the reef for the first State Surfboard Riding Championships held at Yallingup in 1964. The first day went well, but overnight swells destroyed the viewing platform before day two. Ampol Petroleum sponsored the first State Surfboard Riding Championships at Yallingup.
