Earlier this week Margaret River Art Framer/surfer Mike Bosich and I visited former State Surfing Champion and Surf Industry Pioneer Ken MacKenzie (age 61) on his rural property overlooking the beautiful Margaret River. We were looking for and found surfing memorabilia for the WA Surf Gallery at Aravina Estate Yallingup.
Ken has 50 years surfing experience in WA and has lived and worked in the South West since 1977. He is now semi-retired, still makes/fixes surfboards and enjoys playing golf with his mates.
Ken has generously loaned two of his Energy Surfboards and some surf memorabilia to the WA Surf Gallery.
Here are some photos from our visit.

Ken’s surfing memorabilia is now on display at the WA Surf Gallery at Aravina Estate Yalliingup.
There will be more stories on Ken’s involvement with Energy Surfboards and the Margaret River Classic.
