Paddle Out for Evan Hammond at Yallingup

Long term Yallingup resident/surfer Evan Hammond passed away 23 June 2018 age 45.

Evan born 6 November 1972 surfed in the Southwest with his older brother Dene. The feature image shows Evan surfing at Shallows beach Yallingup prior to a State Round in the 80s. The late Kevin ‘Twiggy’ Sharland shot the photo, processed it, framed it, paid for it and handed it to Evan as a present.

Evan is the son of the late Garth Hammond and Patricia Hammond (formerly Yallingup, now Floreat).

A paddle-out with family and friends was held in Yallingup Lagoon on Saturday 30 December 2018.

Dunsborough surfer/photographer Bruce King captured these photos of the event.
