Sally’s sailing/surfing adventure

Sally Garnett is a surfing mum from Yallingup. Sally and her surfing husband Gordon have two grommets.

Pre grommets Sally and Gordon went on a sailing/surfing adventure on their yacht.

These are Sally’s sailing/surfing comments and images:

We got lost in the Caribbean then sailed to Panama, through the canal, then across the Pacific and up the Aussie coast.

The sailing shot was in Martinique (rugged Caribbean island) on our catamaran “Morning of the Earth”

Our home for 3 years (before kids).

Lots of waves, more diving and exploring than surf though. Amazing nature, people and culture.

We took our time.

Feels like a lifetime ago now.

We sold the boat after grom #2

Loved the ocean since I was a child, grew up in a family who didn’t share the passion (I do love them though).

Bought my first board aged 15 or 16 a “Lipstix” up at Lancelin, with money from my after school job.

Mum and Dad said “take it back to the shop or you will end up on drugs

Hmmmmm

Somehow I kept the board, didn’t end up on drugs, but never could get them to take me to the beach…

Surfing had to wait!

Thank you Sally for sharing your sailing/surfing adventures.
