WA surfing event promoter Tim Duff coordinated the Super Showdown pro surfing contest held at Trigg Point in 1987.
The sponsored event had $8000 first prize money and attracted top local and international surfers including World Surfing Champ Tom Curren USA (World Champ 1985, 1986 & 1990).
Surf Super Showdown 1987 was based on a new teams’ contest format. Sixteen selected pro surfers were divided into Eight teams. WA’s Jock Campbell was Contest Director.
