Former West Oz surfer Phil Taylor is
now retired and lives in Narrabeen NSW with his wife Barbara.
Back in the 70s Phil was part of the
rat pack of talented surfers at the Cottesloe Board Club with Ian Mitchell,
Peter ‘Rinso’ Wise etc.
Phil had a long and distinguished contest career in WA before moving over East in 1983.
He is still a keen water man and in recent years has conducted Surf Tours on the East Coast and to the Maldives.

Phil – I moved to East coast in 1983 for work & study. Thought it would be only a year, but the years rolled on, several times my wife Barbara and I considered moving back to WA. However, our two children have been raised as Sydney kids and reluctant to move.
I still love West Oz and regular travel back there. For my fiftieth birthday I went to Gnarloo for ten days surfing. The surf was cranking & I bumped into George Simpson, which was cool!

Phil –In 2019 I travelled to South West WA with my brother Steve to visit our sister Helen at Vasse. Then I travelled down to Augusta to say hello to Rinso and check an old family farm.
