WA Surf Pioneer Jim Keenan surfed WA (metro & SW) and East Coast beaches in the 50s & early 60s. Before heading to the Pacific Island of Guam in 1966 to work and surf with a group of Californians. He returned to Perth in 1970 and enjoyed another spell Down South before heading East again. Then in the mid-70s he headed to Carnarvon in the NW and surfed Red Bluff which was devoid of surfers. On Wednesday 22 June 2022, Jim travelled from Sorrento to celebrate his 85th birthday with family and friends at Caves House HotelYallingup WA.
