Margaret River surfer and surf industry innovator Ricky Gath passed away on Tues 12 December 2023 after a long battle with illness.
Ric was amongst the first wave of young WA surfers to pioneer big wave riding in the Margaret River region. He designed the original Gath Sports Helmet in 1989, won the Margaret River Classic twice and was WA State Surfing Champion in the 1970s.
