Holly. ” I’d guess I’m around age fourteen in the next photo, so it would have been around 30 years ago.
Misty, Taj, Justin & I went to the Australian titles at Avalon Beach NSW, Joe Jordanoff was a body boarder so he possibly made a state team and I’d guess Mel Redman would have been going on tour.
I remember the night & remember Dad took me surfing at Bears the next day & Craig Turley from the West Coast Eagles was there and surfed with us.
I also remember the Aussie Title event as it was my first. Us kids got up to a bit of no good. Mr Bremner, Mark Clift & Mark Laney were our coaches.
Surfers like Nathan Hedge, Joel Parkinson, Troy Brooks, Serena Brooke were surfers we completed against.
Taj & James Catto were our team hero’s back in those days.
We stayed at the Narrabeen Caravan Park and us kids got caught with a slab of VB.
And a bottle of Jim Beam.”😊
