Gary Greirson.” In 1973 I started Oceans Surf Shop in Perth city for Mick Cronin and Bob Girdwood. When I left, Bob’s brother Bill Girdwood took over Oceans. I left Oceans in 1975 and started Greirson Surfboards in Osborne Park with Col Ladhams. In 1976 I opened a new Greirson Surf Shop in Scarborough and then moved to Margaret River in 1977-78.”
Later Col Ladhams marketed Oceans Surfboards in Willeton WA, after that there was an Oceans Shop in Canning Hwy Como, but I don’t know who had it! Its possible Mark Moore from Margaret River had something to do with it! Oceans later became Star Surf Shop with the late Dave Kennedy at the helm.”
Note: Dave Kennedy opened & ran Star Surf & Skate surf shop in Perth city from 1980 until 2006 when at the age of 51 he lost his battle with Leukaemia.

Former Trigg surfer and Greirson Surfboards team rider Mark Wells. “Was in Ossy Park the other day and noticed this old building was still standing. Thought it might be of interest to you. It was the Grierson Surfboard factory in the mid 70’s. Col Ladham’s was shaping and Al Bean was glassing before he became a shaper. I was on their junior surf team, so it would have been circa 1975.”
Note: Sam Sadleir, Bruce Hocking, Adrian Wilson & Randall Owens were also Team Riders for Greirson Surfboards in the 70s.

Gary is multi skilled. In the 80s, he became a professional TV model and earned big $’s advertising Beer & Electrical goods in TV advertisements. In the 2000s, he was a vigneron and produced Greirson Wines in the Southwest.
Gary is now retired and lives in the Mandurah region with his wife Sally.
