Colleen Burke, a former Scarborough surfer and sister of pioneer Laurie Burke, passed away on March 26, 2026, after a short illness.
Colleen surfed Metro and South West beaches in the 1960s and photographed her experiences. Her photos are exhibited at the WA Surf Gallery and on Surfing Down South media sites.
On Tuesday, April 7th at 11am there will be a church service at The Immaculate Heart of Mary in Scarborough.
On Friday, April 10th these will be a burial service at Denmark Cemetery (time tbc) where she will be laid to rest with her daughter Rebecca Fraser
