Jim Keenan, age 88, of Marmion is a WA surfing pioneer. A former City of Perth SLSC member, he was among the first to leave the traditional surf club scene to pursue surfboard riding with his friends in the mid-1950s.
Jim blames the Gidget movie (1959) for introducing surfing to the masses.
