In 1978, Gary Greirson and Al Bean from Ocean Surf Shop, along with talented goofy-footer Chris ‘Feggsey’ Fullston, went on a surfing trip to Rotto. Accompanied by surf photographer and journalist Ric Chan, who documented their adventure with photos, the group took the ferry and surfed at Strickland Bay. During their visit, they met ‘Flipper’ Gallagher, a renowned body surfer from Fiji.
