Wayne Lynch (born 1951), surfer and surfboard shaper, grew up in Lorne, Victoria, not far from Bells Beach. A competitor from the age of ten, he won six consecutive Victorian junior titles, and the Australian junior title four years running between 1967 and 1970.
In 1969 Wayne competed in the Junior division of the first National Titles held in WA. Contest rounds were held at Scarborough, Margarets & Yallingup. He won the Junior title from David ‘Baddy’ Treloar NSW and Butch Cooney NSW.

The day after the 1969 Nationals contest presentations held at Caves House Yallingup, Wayne paddled out in storm surf at Meelup in Geographe Bay to rescue a surfer struggling in the sweep and being washed onto the rocks. Wayne rescued the distressed surfer but damaged his own surfboard in the process
