WA’s distinguished surf administrator Mark Lane passed away on Saturday, 22 August 2026, after a long battle with cancer. As the long-serving Chief Executive Officer of Surfing WA, Mark played a key role in establishing the WA Surf Gallery at Aravina Estate, Yallingup. He brought together the Gallery’s team in 2017 and gave it his full support. Others will no doubt speak more fully to Mark’s many other achievements.
Our condolences go to his wife Elizabeth, and to his family and friends.
