The late Steve Russo of Yallingup (1956–2018) was a talented surfer and videographer. Steve produced surfing videos under his ‘RustyBitz’ label and was known locally as ‘Mango Man’ for importing mangoes from Carnarvon each year and selling them through the Yallingup General Store.

This RustyBitz video features footage of local surfer Rich Myers, then in his early 60s, riding Yallingup Main Break rights over several sessions between 2015 and 2017.

In this video Im riding my mate Andy Jones’s 7’3” and 8’2” DMD surfboards, along with my longboard shaped by Bill Foot in Hawaii. The late Midget Farrelly from NSW told me during a visit to the Southwest in 2006 that Yallingup didn’t get tubes — but he was wrong!”
