1967 Kneeboarding Cottesloe Main Beach – Images by Greg Woodward

In 1964 US surfer George Greenough travelled from Santa Barbara California to the East Coast of Australia. George is credited with the design of short ‘Spoon’ surfboards with flexi-tails which lead to the development of modern surfing.

In 1967 WA surf photographer Greg Woodward snapped these kneeboarders surfing winter waves at Cottesloe main beach on Greenough designed ‘Spoon’ boards.
