2000s 90s

Yallingup surfers have won major contests in Hawaii.

A group of former/current pro surfers from Yallingup have won prestigious pro surfing contests held on Oahu’s north shore in Hawaii. The surfers are brothers Paul & Jake Paterson, Taj Burrow, Melanie Redman-Carr and Claire Bevilacqua. Claire is the only one still competing on the Pro tour.

The Southwest’s powerful swells and variety of surf breaks has proved an ideal training ground for these talented surfers.

This is an overview of the Yallingup surfers and their victories in Hawaii.

Paul ‘Antman’ Paterson

Paul ‘Antman’ Paterson won the 1996 O’Neill World Cup of Surfing title at Sunset Beach.
