1986 Steve ‘Hog’ Hannett surfing images by the late Peter Matulich

Trigg surfer Steve ‘Hog’ Hannett is a talented water man. He has combined 50 years of short board surfing with 40 years of wind surfing.

In the 70s & 80s Hog competed successfully in State surfing competitions and was a member of Scimitar Board Riders.

He has been a prominent surfer at his home beach Trigg Point and northern beaches at Yanchep and Lancelin. He has also spent time surfing in Indo.

The late Peter Matulich (11-9-1959 – 26-4-2018) was a talented photographer, artist and surfer. In the 80s Pete lived at Scarborough and down south. He took these surfing photos of ‘Hog’ surfing Noiseys and Lefthanders near Gracetown on an Odyssey Surfboard in 1986.

The late Peter Matulich – “Hog didn’t know me, but we always seemed to be surfing the same breaks”.
