The morning coffee and the bark waves by Anon

The morning coffee and the bark waves

Sitting in the local cafe staring out the window.

Wishing there was an ocean view.

No such luck, just cars and trucks crawling past and pedestrians staring doggedly at their mobile phones as they walk.

Sipping coffee and turning the pages of the newspaper as I do every day, no ocean views therein either. Never any surfers in the paper except when what’s his name wins Margaret or someone rides a hundred foot wave. Plenty of footy players tho, tennis players, cricket players, golfers and jockeys – like to see some of them paddling out at twenty foot Margaret let alone trying to catch a wave.

Enough excitement for today, time to exit the cafe – nip across the road for milk and bread and a croy sarnt for breakfast tommorow morning.

Walking home I come across two pieces of palm bark on the footpath. Dry as a bone with lovely curves and textures that remind me of curling waves I used to ride and photograph in the old days.

When I got home, I placed them onto the dining table and took close ups to make wave pictures out of them. Might even send a couple to the media – save them sending a drone to the beach.
